Permaculture

Connie Romero, founder of Gardens Forever™, is a proponent of permaculture, a branch of ecological design which helps people create sustainable and self-maintained agricultural systems modeled from real world, successful natural ecosystems. Permaculture design expresses the need for all life systems to continue and multiply.

The central concept of permaculture is maximizing useful connections between components, and synergy of the final design. The focus is not on each design element, but on the relationships created among elements created by the way they are placed together. Permaculture design seeks to minimize waste, human labor, and energy input by building systems with maximal benefits between design elements. These designs can grow into complex systems that produce a high density of beautiful flowers, food and other useful plant life with minimal input of resources and labor.

Connie Romero was awarded her Permaculture Certificate in 2013.
